Jeep® Took Winter X-Games 15 by storm

You’ve seen all the pictures, watched all the action and know all about who took home the gold at this year’s Winter X-Games, but unless you were in Aspen, Colorado, you probably missed all of the great Jeep® brand fun in the mountains. As an official sponsor, we showed up in force, and brought a stack of awesome Jeep brand vehicles for fans to check out between events. Our product gurus were on hand to answer questions and show off the best parts of our all-new Compass, Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty®: Black Ops Edition, too.

When fans weren’t climbing all over our hottest new models, they had the chance to stop by the Jeep Tag Shop to have their winter gear tagged and a chance to rub elbows with some of the biggest names in snowboarding. We heard that champion and featured athlete of our Winter X Games spots, Nate Holland dropped in to chat with visitors and sign autographs. Just outside the Tag Shop, our army of Jeep brand volunteers helped fans register for our Winter Gear Sweepstakes for a chance to take home a heap of awesome hardware. If you haven’t had a chance to enter yourself, there’s still time. From now until March 4th, visit http://apps.facebook.com/jeepwinterx and you could win the ultimate winter gear package!

At this year’s Winter X Games, a sweepstakes wasn’t the only way to win. We also set up multiple Foursquare check-ins throughout the downtown Aspen area. Fans could stop by a number of different coffee shops, cafes and snow-sport specialty shops for a chance to snag some major discounts or great free gifts. And of course, we knew that getting around Aspen could be a challenge with the crowds, so the Jeep brand offered a shuttle service to help fans get where they needed to go. They could jump into either a brand-new 2011 Grand Cherokee or one of two four-door wranglers for quick rides into the hottest spots in downtown Aspen. The bright Yellow and Mango Tango Wrangler models made a huge splash against the white snow of the area, and fans appreciated having a warm way to get around.

Once everything wrapped up, we gave away two Compass models to this year’s most outstanding male and female athletes. Sebastien Toutant and Kelly Clark are now the proud owners of the 2011 Jeep Compass, so they should have no problem getting themselves, their friends and all their gear to the slopes in the future.

A big congratulations goes out to all of the gold-medal winners at this year’s X-Games. While we were particularly proud of Sebastien Toutant for capping the podium in the Snowboard Slope Style event and Kelly Clark for snagging the gold in the Women’s Snowboard Superpipe, this year saw a rash of amazing competition. Our four days in Aspen were some of the most fun we’ve had in months thanks to the hundreds of great Jeep brand fans we met in Colorado.
