The Jeep® Wrangler Mojave Gets Dusty

As President and CEO of the Jeep® brand, Mike Manley puts it, “the Mojave trail is known for expeditions, exploration and a rugged environment that features elevations, sand, canyons, a river crossing and hill climbs—the perfect landscape for the Jeep Wrangler.” This is the strip of dusty desert that the likes of Kit Carson and early American frontiersmen traversed as they discovered the great west. As history tells us, they roughed it, sometimes barely surviving, sometimes not.

The Jeep Wrangler is known for tackling just such a playground. It was literally created to climb dunes and traverse murky rivers. In fact, such a backdrop seems almost born for the sole purpose of challenging Jeep brand aficionados. We ask ourselves, how deep can our Jeep Wrangler plunge? How dirty can it get? Is there a sand dune too steep or canyon too sheer? And if there is how can we tweak and modify the Wrangler to beat that dune into sweet submission?

For this reason our engineers, along with Chrysler Group LLC’s Street and Racing Technology team, have followed in the footsteps, or better yet tire marks of the popular special-edition models, creating a vehicle to join the ranks of the “Islander”, “Mountain” and “Call of Duty®: Black Ops Edition.” For those of you that have been looking for factory-customized vehicles, we introduce the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Mojave.

The Wrangler Mojave was created to honor and attack the Mojave trail. It is capable of dominating said trail, or a desert near you alike, and is noticeably soft on the eyes. The Mojave features a unique desert theme both inside and out. Soft tan leather and all the necessary amenities (as well as a few unnecessary ones, but fun nonetheless) fill the interior. An aggressive wheel and tire package was added to the exterior, making the Mojave Wrangler qualified to confront even the toughest of terrain.
Whether you choose to go soft-top or select the new premium body-color hardtop for your Mojave, this Wrangler is built ready to beat Mojave Trail. We recommend you load yours up and travel the 138 miles from Laughlin, Nev., to Afton Canyon near Barstow, Calif. to see for yourself. Who knows what you’ll come across, perhaps the lizard that inspired the hood and interior artwork, or maybe you’ll see a rattler – maybe you’ll see ten. You’ll notice how the Mojave blends in with the desert background, almost becoming one with the landscape, save the roaring of its engine. Although the roaring could be mistaken for a pack of hungry wolves, do try to steer clear of the actual thing, especially if you did go with the soft-top option.

The 2011 Jeep Wrangler Mojave is available in Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models, and hits Jeep showrooms this June. Mike Manley contends, “by creating the Jeep Wrangler Mojave, we are able to deliver another specialized vehicle that Jeep enthusiasts will love, while drawing new customers into Jeep showrooms.” This certainly is a perfect outdoor and off-road vehicle for those true to the Jeep brand and for those new to it. We hope you’ll enjoy.
