As you guys probably know, we recently asked our Jeep® brand fans here to tell us a bit about themselves. This is a look at Christian Crandon, a Jeep brand enthusiast with a side passion for remote controlled (RC) cars.
Christian knows what it means to be a Jeep brand guy, and explains, “Owning a Jeep [vehicle] is less about owning a vehicle and more about a way of life, like surfing, and if you don’t surf, you just don’t get it.” Well said, Christian. He describes his YJ as an invitation to adventure, rather than a ride to work. His relationship with our vehicles goes back to childhood, when he played with his plastic military Jeep brand toys as a kid, and noticed how they immediately stood out over his other toy trucks. From that moment, the love affair was born.
While he’s certainly done the obligatory trail riding and off-roading, his passion for the Jeep brand was soon combined with radio-controlled car building, and interest he credits to his grandfather’s model train hobby. Before long, he was spending countless hours creating shockingly accurate replicas of Jeep brand vehicles – right down to handmade custom details like roof racks, winches and bumpers. Upon finishing one, he photographs it in a scaled-down setting (model trains, anyone?). Many times, people are completely unaware they’re looking at a picture of an RC car, and not the real thing! Safe to say this guy’s got some skill.

Both Jeep brand and RC car fans can be found all over the world, a fact made obvious by Christian’s recent teaming up with another Jeep brand lover from Norway (Scandinavia, in general, has a huge population of RC car aficionados). We love reading stories like this, and it shows how deeply connected, widespread and passionate our fan base is.
