Jeep® CJ-8 Scrambler, Blast from the Past

It was the 80’s; consumer consumption was at an all-time high, as were shoulder pads, trapezoidal frame sunglasses, and big hair bands.  While most of the population was speeding around in cherry red sport cars, bumping Duran Duran, a select few stayed true to their inner call – the call of the wild, you could say.  Popular Music TV shows hit the airways debuting with “Radio Killed the Radio Star” and while some became glued to the tube, others fought to make their way outdoors.  This 1981 Jeep® Scrambler advertisement spoke to the men and women that had heard enough about the Watergate scandal and needed to hightail it out of the burbs and into the country.  The CJ-8 was the vessel that could get you there – good-bye to the everyday hustle and bustle, hello fresh air and camping out under the stars. Thirty years later, we find this ad current and relevant.  Throw some gear in the back of your Jeep® vehicle and help your kids understand the need to be free.
