Jeep® Blog wrote at length about the entry-level, stock 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport that proved just as capable as many of the other off-road vehicles at the 46th Annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari. While that may have been the highlight of our trip this year, we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about the incredible vehicles that Mopar® accessorized specially for Moab.
As is customary, Jeep and Mopar teamed up to display some of this year’s special Moab-inspired Jeep brand vehicles in downtown Moab. The best part about these “display” vehicles is that they’re ready to tear up the trails. Jeep Blog rode with the Mopar team on Seven Mile Trail in a vehicle that walks the walk – the Jeep JK-8.
When we met up with our trail group for the day, many of them were happily surprised to see us, though some of them undoubtedly thought that the Moparized JK-8 was just along for show. Not so. Yes, it does look good. But it crawls even better.

Case in point: the JK-8 absolutely ate up “Wipe Out Hill.” Our trail for the day, Seven Mile Trail, is relatively easy by Moab standards. But for the daring, a slight turn-off about three-quarters of the way through sits you atop the infamous event.

Most of the group pulled over and got out of their vehicles to be spectators. There was no doubt which vehicle they wanted to watch battle “Wipe Out Hill.” The JK-8 made it down the hill with little difficulty. On its way up, the spectators had only a few moments to watch, as the JK-8 climbed up the hill like a kid on playground.
We overheard several people say, “That’s too easy.” That was no surprise to us – just another day’s work for Jeep and Mopar.
