If you are or ever have been a Jeep® owner, you know this statement to be true. Believe it or not, 2011 marks the Jeep® brand’s 70th anniversary. But it all actually began in 1940 when, with World War II on the horizon, the U.S.
 
Army solicited bids for a light reconnaissance vehicle. That vehicle would become the 1941 Willys MA, the great grandfather of your Wrangler, Patriot, Compass, Liberty and Grand Cherokee.
 
As we celebrate this huge milestone, and considering the many other milestones that have marked the Jeep’s seven-decade history, we can only wonder: what will the next 70 years bring?
