Jeep® Brand Lifestyle: Indiana

Hurry now or get left behind!  There are still a few slots available for the 2nd Badlands Jeep® Jamboree in Attica, Indiana June 2-4, 2011.   You won’t want to miss this opportunity to test your Jeep brand vehicle at the Badlands Off-Road Park.  Last year was the first year for the Badlands Jamboree and it was a huge success.    Participants raved about the quality of trails, expertise of the guides, and the outstanding food.   Get ready to have a blast in the heart of the Midwest!

What can you expect at the Jamboree?   Badlands describes their ORV Park as:  “…a privately-owned tract of about 800 acres in western Indiana, about 30 minutes south west of Lafayette. It is literally a smorgasbord of off-road riding: sand dunes, pea gravel hills, bottomless mud, the tightest off-camber woods trails, extreme rock crawling, shear drop-offs, hood-deep water, stream crossings, etc. You name it, it’s probably here.” I don’t know about you, but that sounds like my kind of fun.

The real bonus with this Jeep Jamboree is all the interesting places to see and things to do in the local area.   If fact, we had a hard time narrowing it down.  During your visit to Attica, you’ll want to be sure to spend some time in the Lafayette and West Lafayette area located about 26 miles away.  While you’re there, visit the Celery Bog Nature Area.  This relaxing and restful wetlands area is home to numerous species of birds and small mammals.  Catch a peek at the many animals and enjoy identifying some interesting and unusual plants as you meander along the easy 4-mile paved walking trail.  Open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, you’ll be able to sneak this in before the Jeep Jamboree gets rolling.

Are you into something a little more active?  Rent a canoe in Lafayette and paddle either the Wabash or Tippecanoe Rivers.   Described as a river of many moods, the Wabash River drains two thirds of the state’s counties.  No other river in Indiana will give you such an up-close and personal view of the state.   The Tippecanoe River is one of the most beautiful paddles in the Midwest!    If that doesn’t appeal, how about a visit to Indiana Beach Amusement and Camp, located only 45 minutes from Lafayette? For a reasonable admission, you can ride, swim, camp, or dine and dance.  Their waterpark features a sand beach, great for swimming or just lazing the day away.  While you’re there, have fun on any of the six water slides or jump on Hoosier Hurricane, the fastest rollercoaster in Indiana.  We’re thinking this would be a great way for the family to stretch those legs after two days in your Jeep brand vehicle.

We’re happy Jeep Jamboree decided to return to the Badlands ORV Park so that we could spend some time visiting all of the many interesting, historical, and beautiful places in this delightful state.    Since we only have room to talk about a few of the places to visit in Indiana, we would be interested in hearing what you think are some of the best places to go or things to do.    So, where are your favorite places in Indiana to get outside and four-wheel your Jeep brand vehicle?
