With a hurricane nipping at his heels and a new baby just born, long distance runner Alex Bellini finally completed his 70-day foot race from Los Angeles to New York City—celebrating the Jeep® brand’s 70th Anniversary. As a partner and sponsor in his efforts, we have been following Alex every step of the way. Together we’ve seen the devastation of the tornadoes in Joplin, MO, met strangers and friends, and ultimately watched as Alex ran straight into the arms of his little girl. A trek that he calls a “lifetime” took him through the peaks and valleys of this great nation. A dream completed; here at the Jeep brand we can’t quite put to words the emotion and inspiration that a journey like this conjures. And even though we’ve been there mile for mile in the plush interior of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that carried us comfortably from Los Angeles to the Big Apple, we can’t speak to the elements and difficultly Alex had to endure. So, we simply say, Congratulations Alex, you’ve completed the journey of a lifetime and thank you for having us along.
