Fridays on the Jeep_® Blog, we’re featuring some of our favorite concept vehicles. This week, check out the 2005 Jeep Hurricane concept model.

In 2005, the Jeep Hurricane took the North American International Auto Show by storm, as would any vehicle with not one, but two 5.7-liter HEMI® engines. This means the Hurricane delivered a total of 670 horsepower and could be powered by 4, 8, 12 or 16 cylinders.

The Hurricane had the ability to turn both its front and rear tires inward, greatly reducing the turning circle of the vehicle. With approach/departure angles of 64.0/86.7 degrees, this vehicle was made to hit the trails.

Designed to be both lightweight and strong, the one-piece carbon fiber body had no side doors or roof. The underside of the vehicle featured a complete skid plate system.
