Jeep® Heritage | 1951 Jeep Willys Ambulances

Each Friday on the Jeep® Blog, we explore the Jeep brand’s iconic heritage by highlighting different historical vehicles. This week’s vehicles are 1951 Jeep Willys ambulances.

The phenomenal capability of Jeep vehicles during World War II allowed it to perform in battles and missions to transport wounded soldiers to first aid. When Jeep vehicles came stateside and sold to civilians, the first-aid missions didn’t stop. Witness these two Jeep Willys ambulances.

The ambulance seen above is a 4×4, long-body vehicle capable of fitting two stretchers. This particular edition was modified by Siebert, a Toledo, Ohio-area shop that built coaches and delivery vehicles.

The ambulance below is a slightly elongated 1951 Jeep CJ-4M, a version of the elusive prototype that we wrote about in last week’s Jeep Heritage post.

Keep following the Jeep Blog for Heritage Fridays as we dig into the Jeep brand’s iconic history, including a further look into a pivotal time in the brand’s history, the Roaring 50s.
